While Nifty50 scaled a new high of 20,167.65 on the intraday basis before settling at 20,103.10, up by 33.10 points or 0.16%, S&P BSE Sensex climbed to 67,771.05.
The 30-stock index closed at 67,519, higher by 52.01 points or 0.08%. Banking gauge Nifty Bank finished at 46,000.85, up by 91.40 points or 0.20%.
Volatility was lower from Thursday closing as India VIX stood at 11.32, down 4.31%.
