NEW DELHI: Going by their respective form after the opening week of the ongoing ICC World Cup, it’s difficult to pick a winner ahead of the much-awaited round-robin fixture between India and Pakistan scheduled for Saturday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. And the task gets tougher looking at the form of the two teams in the 50-over format in 2023.
India defeated five-time champions Australia by six wickets to kick-start their campaign, and followed it up with an eight-wicket win over Afghanistan.

Pakistan, meanwhile, displayed their red-hot form with an 81-run victory over Netherlands in the opening match and then chased down a 345-run target to beat Sri Lanka by 6 wickets.

In 2023, both India and Pakistan enjoy a winning percentage of over 70. Here’s how their ODI numbers for this year stack up:

India Pakistan
Played 23 18
Won 17 12
Lost 5 5
NR 1 1
Winning % 77.27 70.58

Here’s a look at the two teams’ record in ODIs overall:
