NEW DELHI: Indian sensation Aditi Ashok secured her second victory of the Ladies European Tour (LET) season, triumphing with a two-shot win at the Andalucia Costa del Sol Open de Espana. The tournament, held at Real Club de Golf Las Brisas, witnessed Ashok’s exceptional performance, marked by rounds of 69-68-68 and a stunning bogey-free final-round 66, culminating in a total of 17-under-par.
“It was a great battle. Anne [Van Dam], when she’s playing good, she can blow the field away and win by five to 10 shots. I knew I had to not stop making birdies and to keep trying,” emphasised Ashok in the aftermath of her hard-fought victory.

The 25-year-old golfer showcased her resilience and skill, facing stiff competition from Dutch star Anne Van Dam, who concluded the tournament in second place at 15-under-par after a final round of 68 (-4). Ashok’s victory marks her fifth LET title and her second of the season, following her earlier triumph at the season-opening event in Kenya.
Reflecting on the significance of the win, Ashok articulated, “This is something different, really special because you don’t play for yourself, you play for the whole team.” Her words underscore the team-oriented approach she brings to her individual accomplishments.
Van Dam graciously acknowledged Ashok’s outstanding play, stating, “Aditi just came out and played unbelievably, and she definitely deserved to win this week.” The Dutch player recognized the quality of Ashok’s performance, reinforcing the Indian golfer’s deserving triumph.

In the 2023 Race to Costa del Sol, another standout emerged as Trichat Cheenglab secured the trophy with a total of 1,966.52 points. Cheenglab’s accomplishment included winning both the Race to Costa del Sol and Rookie of the Year titles in the same season, a feat achieved by only a select few.
Aditi Ashok’s victory adds another chapter to the growing success of Indian golfers on the global stage, highlighting their talent, competitive spirit, and ability to shine in prestigious tournaments.
