NEW DELHI: IndiGo has become the first Indian carrier to cross the 10-crore passenger mark in a calendar year. This feat was achieved when a passenger, Ritesh Banglani, checked in for 6E-6118 Delhi-Bengaluru flight on Monday.
IndiGo had earlier become the first desi airline to cross Rs 1-lakh-crore in market capitalisation and to have over 2,000 daily flights.In a statement, the 17-year-old airline said it “has joined a select club of global carriers to operate on such a scale and this development (10 crore passengers in a year) further cements its standing among the 10 largestairlines in the world by passenger traffic.
