Baby millionaire! Grandad Narayana Murthy gifts Infosys shares worth Rs 240 crore to four-month-old

Regulatory filings show that 77-year-old Murthy gifted 15 lakh shares or 0.04% stake to his grandson in an off-market transaction last Friday. After the gift was executed, the Infosys co-founder’s holding in the IT company fell to 0.36%.
At today’s price of Rs 1,620 on BSE in the afternoon, Ekagrah has amassed a fortune of Rs 243 crore.
Ekagrah was born to Infosys Founder NR Narayana Murthy’s son Rohan Murthy and daughter-in-law Aparna Krishnan on November 10 last year in Bengaluru.
Rohan has a Ph.D. in computer science from Harvard University and runs Boston-headquartered software firm Soroco. Aparna, on the other hand, heads Murty Media.

At the end of the December quarter, Akshata owned 1.05% stake in Infosys, Sudha 0.93% and Rohan 1.64%.
Murthy had started Infosys way back in 1981 along with six other co-founders. Besides Ashok Arora, who left the software services exporter in 1989 to settle down in the US, all the co-founders are now billionaires.
