NEW DELHI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) unveiled the official anthem for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024, set to kick off on June 1 across the West Indies and the USA.
Produced by Michael “Tano” Montano, the track promises to be a fusion of Caribbean rhythms and international flair, accompanied by a star-studded music video.
Renowned Jamaican artist Sean Paul expressed his excitement about contributing to the anthem, stating, “Cricket has always been a major part of our culture, so I’m honoured to record the official anthem for the T20 World Cup.”
He emphasized the blend of Caribbean and international influences, aiming to create a unifying anthem for fans worldwide.
Joining Sean Paul is Kees Dieffenthaller, better known as Kes, the lead singer of Kes the Band from Trinidad and Tobago.

Kes highlighted the power of combining cricket and music, stating, “Our mission has always been about bringing worlds together, so blending cricket (dear to us in the Caribbean) with music is a powerful combination.”
ICC general manager of marketing and communications, Claire Furlong, expressed enthusiasm for the anthem’s potential to resonate with cricket fans globally.
She stated, “Fans can expect a song that will reflect the Caribbean identity while retaining universal appeal for global cricket fans, themed around the event’s marketing campaign ‘Out of this World'”.
As the anticipation builds for the tournament, the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Trophy Tour 2024 continues its journey, with upcoming stops in Barbados, the venue for the tournament final on June 29, following previous visits to parts of the USA and South America.
