Houston police investigating body with signs of decomposition found on city’s north side

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A body with signs of decomposition was found inside a garbage bag Monday evening, the Houston Police Department said.

HPD said it is investigating a call that came in at about 7:30 p.m. in the 600 block of East 40th Street, which is just off Main Street in the city’s Independence Heights neighborhood.

Police could not offer much else, including how the body was uncovered and whether it belonged to a male or a female.

An investigation is underway.
