Even today, there are people who still love the original Yezdi or Jawa motorcycles. We have come across several instances and collectors who have maintained vintage Yezdi motorcycles. Many of them even spend a substantial amount to get their old bikes restored. Yezdi bikes are quite popular among collectors as well. Here we have a video where a 1973 model Yezdi B Type motorcycle was restored to its original condition.
The video has been uploaded by OLD SMOKE PISTON on their YouTube channel. In this video, the vlogger talks about all the changes that were made to this motorcycle. The video starts by showing the condition of the bike when it arrived at the workshop. The workshop is even in Rajasthan, and it was transported all the way from Uttar Pradesh. When the bike came, many of its parts were missing, and the engine was not working as well. Most of the parts had rusted away, and the exhaust was also damaged.

The workshop completely stripped the bike down for this project and restored every bit of it. The bike, after all the restoration, looks brand new. The vlogger starts by talking about the paintwork. The whole motorcycle was dismantled, and every panel was worked on. All the rust was removed, and some parts were even replaced with new ones. The paintwork alone cost around Rs 12,000 on this bike. The motorcycle also comes with several chrome parts, all of which were restored, costing another Rs 10,000.
The engine on this motorcycle was not in working condition. It was completely damaged, and they had to rebuild it. Many parts were replaced, and even the gearbox was repaired. The carburetor on this motorcycle was choked, so a new one was installed in its place. The motorcycle was missing a seat when it came to the workshop. The customer opted for a custom seat setup. There is a chrome-plated grab handle, turn indicators, LED headlamps, and an aftermarket tail lamp installed on this bike.
The silencer installed on this motorcycle is a brand new unit. The wheels, tires, and front forks all needed work. The tires were replaced with new 16-inch units from MRF. The instrument cluster on this motorcycle is new, and it also comes with LED lights in the headlamp. The handlebar gets bar-end weights from current-gen Jawa motorcycles. The vlogger mentions that every part on this motorcycle has been painstakingly restored.
Owning a vintage motorcycle comes with its own set of challenges. Sourcing parts for such bikes is often very difficult.
