When is Kick-Off?

Sheffield Utd host Bournemouth at Bramall Lane in a 3pm GMT kick-off on Saturday 25 November, untelevised live in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Sheffield Utd are unbeaten in two previous Premier League meetings against Bournemouth (W1, D1).
  • Bournemouth lost their only previous Premier League visit to Sheffield United by 2-1 result in February 2020.
  • Bournemouth have scored first in each of their two previous Premier League meetings against Sheffield Utd.
  • Two of Sheffield Utd’s last three goals at home were scored from the penalty spot.
  • Two of Bournemouth’s five away goals in the league this season were scored by Dominic Solanke.

Prediction

Despite their awful defensive record this season, Sheffield Utd seemed to have found some momentum with four points in their last two games – even if lucky to draw at Brighton, but this is a test now of whether they can pick up that form and kick on now.

Bournemouth meanwhile have two wins in their last two home games and were especially impressive in a dominant win over Newcastle, where they were clinical yet patient with positive creativity and fluidity to their attacking play.

This clash though feels pivotal because if the Blades win then the fight for survival is on but if Bournemouth win, I can see them beginning to move closer towards safety and leave Sheffield Utd fighting for their lives especially if Luton also win their game elsewhere.

I am therefore expecting a close battle between two struggling teams who have begun to find form but if Bournemouth play like they did against Newcastle – albeit on the road, they should have enough for a first away win in the top-flight this season.

Prediction: Sheffield United 1-2 Bournemouth
