Roundup of the latest Sky Bet Championship action which saw the top two both fail to win. 

Leicester’s nine-match winning streak came to an end with a 1-0 home defeat to third-placed Leeds as Georgino Rutter netted a 58th minute winner at the King Power Stadium.

Marcus Harness’ late brace saw second-placed Ipswich fight back to snatch a 2-2 draw at Birmingham City, after Jay Stanfield and Cameron Burgess’s own-goal had put the Blues ahead, before the Tractor Boys then drew 2-2 at Rotherham in a rearranged midweek clash.

Ryan Fraser struck a 93rd minute winner as fourth-placed Southampton scraped past Millwall in a tightly-fought contest at The Den.

Second-half goals from Matt Phillips and Semi Ajayi saw fifth-placed West Brom beat Hull 3-1 at The Hawthorns, after Jed Wallace’s goal had been cancelled out by Lewie Coyle’s equaliser before half-time.

Goals from Duane Holmes, Alan Browne and Milutin Osmajic saw Preston climb to sixth with a 3-2 home win over Coventry, despite Haji Wright netting twice for the visitors at Deepdale.

Cardiff slipped out of the top six into seventh position after they were forced to settle for a goalless draw at Stoke.

Down in the relegation zone, Marti Cifuentes’ debut as manager of second-bottom QPR ended in a 1-1 draw at third-bottom Rotherham after Georgie Kelly rescued the Millers a 1-1 draw as he cancelled out Ilias Chair’s goal.

Rock-bottom Sheffield Wednesday suffered a narrow 1-0 loss at Bristol City as Rob Dickie netted a 64th minute winner for the hosts, after the Owls’ Barry Bannan had been red carded in the 32nd minute for a foul on Jason Knight.

Huddersfield remain five points above the bottom three after they were held to a goalless draw at home to Watford.

Elsewhere, Bali Mumba and Finn Azaz both provided a goal and assist as Plymouth battled to a topsy-turvy 3-3 draw at home to Middlesbrough, in which Josh Coburn scored twice for the visitors before Boro’s Sam Greenwood and Argyle’s Morgan Whittaker netted the teams’ third goals.

Sammie Szmodics’ brace plus Tyrhys Dolans’ eighth minute opening goal saw Blackburn win 3-1 at Norwich to move up to tenth position.

Finally, ten-men Swansea clung on for a goalless draw at home to Sunderland despite Charlie Patino’s red card in the 30th minute, having picked up two separate yellow cards.
