Sunderland have no fresh injury concerns to report following their win over West Brom.

Jewison Benette (illness/knock), Aji Alese (thigh), Timothee Pembele, Jay Matete (both knee), Corry Evans (ACL), Dennis Cirkin (hamstring) and Elliot Embleton (ankle) remain absent

Leeds will be without Sam Byram after he suffered a hamstring injury during their win at Blackburn.

Patrick Bamford (illness) and Luke Ayling (knee) are doubts for this match.

Jamie Shackleton (glute) will too miss out alongside Junior Firpo (hamstring), Ian Poveda (international duty) and Stuart Dallas (thigh) who remain sidelined.

When is Kick-Off?

Sunderland host Leeds at Stadium of Light in a 8pm GMT kick-off on Tuesday 12 December, live on Sky Sports in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Sunderland are unbeaten in four of their last six league meetings against Leeds (W3, D1, L2).
  • Leeds have won three of their last five visits to Sunderland (W3, L2).
  • Three of the last five meetings between Sunderland and Leeds on Wearside have finished 2-0, with the Black Cats winning two of those three specific meetings.
  • Sunderland have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last five home matches (W3, L2).
  • Four of Crysencio Summerville’s nine goals for Leeds this season have been scored away from home.

Prediction

Following Tony Mowbray’s departure last week, Sunderland looked more resilient and disciplined at the back amidst wasteful attacking until they converted two second-half chances clinically, especially from the counter-attack which they will need to be spot on with in this game.

Leeds meanwhile just continue to build momentum after clinically converting their chances in a classy win at Blackburn, where they were outplayed on the attack but their defence crucially saw them through with a clean sheet.

Daniel Farke’s Whites though will be aware that Sunderland are another possession-based team so this will be another difficult game, but Leeds do have the better in-form strikeforce which might well prove the difference.

Prediction: Sunderland 1-2 Leeds
