Dani Ceballos is a doubt for Real Madrid after he picked up a muscle injury in training last week.

Thibaut Courtois and David Alaba both remain sidelined with ACL injuries.

Jude Bellingham, Eduardo Camavinga, Vinicius Junior and Aurelién Tchouameni are one booking away from suspension for the second leg.

Man City could be without defender, Josko Gvardiol after he suffered a knock in their comeback Premier League win at Crystal Palace.

Nathan Ake (calf) and Kyle Walker (hamstring) remain absent.

When is Kick-Off?

Real Madrid host Man City at Santiago Bernabeu, Madrid, on Tuesday 9 April at 9pm CEST (8pm UK Time), live on TNT Sports 2 in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Real Madrid have won one of their last six meetings against Man City (W1, D1, L4).
  • Man City have won one of their five previous visits to Real Madrid (W1, D1, L3).
  • Both teams have scored in four of their last five meetings at Santiago Bernabeu.
  • Real Madrid has scored nine goals and conceded three goals in their four home matches in this season’s Champions League (W3, D1).
  • Man City have scored three goals in each of their four away matches in this season’s competition (W4), albeit without keeping a clean sheet.

Prediction

Having had a week-and-a-half to prepare for this game and unbeaten at home this season, Real Madrid need to quickly settle and ensure that there is no rustiness because even the small margins could be the difference in this tie if they’re not careful.

City meanwhile were absolutely brilliant attack wise and especially in possession in their victory at Palace, but their defence is a huge concern given how sloppy they’ve been at defending on oppositional counter-attacks lately and they just can’t afford any silliness here.

Neither team though can’t really afford to lose this first leg so I expect this to be tense and scrappy and if consider Real’s home form plus City’s away form, this could well be tight and set up a blockbuster second leg.

Prediction: Real Madrid 1-1 Manchester City
