The country’s third-largest carmaker recently launched the new Harrier facelift in India along with its elder sibling, the Safari facelift. Both of these SUVs have taken the country by storm as more of them have started arriving at dealerships. Recently, two small videos showing the brand-new Harrier facelift Dark Edition have garnered a ton of interest on the internet. These videos show the real-life road presence of the new Harrier facelift Dark Edition.

The first video of the new Harrier facelift Dark Edition has been shared on YouTube by Pratham8003 on their channel. In this short video, a Harrier facelift Dark Edition can be seen getting fuel at a fuel station. The video just gives a glimpse of the front, side, and the rear of the new SUV. It also highlights the newly added 19-inch all-black aero alloy wheels.

Next up, another video on YouTube uploaded by Ballu Bhai NT shares a small snippet of the new Harrier facelift Dark Edition. In this YouTube short, the presenter shows the new welcome and goodbye animations of the newly added connected LED DRLs at the front and rear connected taillights. In the video, the presenter hits the unlock and lock button on the front and rear to show the cool new animation added by Tata Motors. Additionally, it also shows the functioning of the new powered tailgate.

Just like the Tata Safari facelift, the company has also launched a new Dark Edition model of the new Harrier facelift. The model from the company comes painted in Oberon Black color. Unlike the standard facelifted Harrier, it gets high-gloss black elements on the top and bottom front grille, and the skid plates have been painted high-gloss black. The rest of the front end has been kept exactly the same with the new modern-looking connected LED DRLs and new all-LED headlights.

On the side profile, Tata Motors, this time around, has given the Harrier a segment-first set of 19-inch alloy wheels. No other mid-size SUV in India comes available with a set of these big alloy wheels. The design itself is also different from that of the standard Harrier. Apart from this, only new Harrier badges have been added on the front two doors. Lastly, on the rear, the SUV now gets a brand-new rear bumper and a set of newly designed LED taillights, which, as mentioned, get the new welcome and goodbye signature animation.

Tata Motors is offering the new Harrier Dark Edition starting from the Pure+ S variant. It will start at Rs 21.39 lakh and will be offered with Adventure+ S variant and Fearless and Fearless+ variants. The most expensive Fearless Dark Edition will cost Rs 26.44 lakh.

Interior upgrades

Moving to the inside, this is where the company has provided the new Harrier facelift with huge upgrades. Now, although the overall dashboard layout is the same, the company has given the new Harrier a massive 12.3-inch Harman touchscreen infotainment system. This system comes with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto connectivity, a 360-degree camera, 10 JBL speakers, and a ton of other bells and whistles. The Harrier Dark Edition unlike the other variants comes with an all-black interior.

Apart from these, the new Harrier facelift also gets a massive 10.5-inch digital instrument gauge cluster as well and a new four-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo. Additionally, it will also come equipped with ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, and lots of other cool features.

Engine and transmission

On the powertrain front, the company has not changed anything under the bonnet of this SUV. This time around as well, the Harrier gets the same 2.0-liter Kryotec turbocharged diesel engine. This motor pushes around 170 bhp and 350 Nm of torque. Transmission duties on the new Harrier are handled by a 6-speed manual transmission. It also gets an optional 6-speed automatic transmission as well. The new Harrier facelift starts at Rs 15.49 lakh and goes all the way up to Rs 26.44 lakh.
