Safari Dark Edition: New Facelift vs. Old
Front
The video comparing the Safari facelift Dark Edition vs. the old Safari Dark Edition has been shared on YouTube by Kataria Garage on the channel. The video starts with the presenter comparing the front of both the Dark Edition models. He mentions that the all-new facelift model looks a lot more modern, futuristic, and bold. However, the old model still does not look dated and offers a much more muscular and aggressive appearance. In this Dark Edition, the new facelifted Safari gets high-gloss finishes all around.

Moving on, the vlogger highlights the differences between the two models. He mentions that the Safari facelift gets a set of new LED headlights and fog lights, and the entire assembly of these lights is compact. Meanwhile, the halogen projector and halogen fog lights setup on the old Safari were a lot bigger. Another major change is the addition of a full-width LED DRL on the new Safari facelift. He mentions that the old one comes equipped with two separate but bigger LED DRLs.
Side
Next, the presenter moves to the side profile comparison of the two SUVs. The brand-new Safari facelift in the Dark Edition model gets a completely different and more aggressive set of alloy wheels. The size of the old Safari Dark Edition was 18 inches, while the new Safari facelift Dark Edition offers a bigger 19-inch alloy wheel set. Another small difference between the two models is the addition of Safari badging. The new facelifted model gets Safari badging on the front two doors.
Rear
After the front and side profile changes, the vlogger shows the rear end of both Dark Edition models. He mentions that overall they look the same, but the new facelift model gets newly designed LED taillights which are now connected. The rear bumper on the new facelift model has also been fully redesigned, adds the vlogger.
Interior
Next, he moves to the interior of the two cars, where he first shows the old Dark Edition’s interior. He mentions that it looks a little dated on the inside but still gets a decent amount of features. After this, he shows the interior of the new Safari facelift. He states that the new interior is a lot more modern than the old one. It gets a massive 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system by Harman and a 10.25-inch digital instrument gauge cluster. The new car also gets touch-based HVAC controls and a ton of other new features.
CarToq’s Review of the 2023 Tata Safari
Shantonil Nag drove the updated Tata Safari for CarToq soon after its official reveal, and was impressed with the updates. The car has become much better, and the exterior is visually striking (not that the last Safari was boring!). But the updated Safari is much more well-placed to offer a strong challenge to its competition. You can read our full review of the 2023 Tata Safari here.
