Bajaj Auto has introduced the upgraded Pulsar N250 for the 2024 model year. This flagship naked Pulsar comes with a range of updates, including hardware and tech, which make it more modern and feature-rich.

Priced at Rs. 1.51 lakhs, the 2024 Bajaj Pulsar N250 does not come with any price increment, which is good news for the buyers. With these updates, the motorcycle now competes strongly with premium offerings in the 250 cc segment.

One of the significant upgrades is the introduction of a digital console with Bluetooth connectivity. Bajaj has introduced this feature across the entire Pulsar N-series range of bikes. This new LCD console replaces the ana-digital unit seen on the previous model.

It offers numerous features such as multiple trip meters, distance to empty, gear position indicator, digital tachometer, and more. This is the same instrument cluster that was seen on the newly launched Pulsar NS 150 and Pulsar NS 160.

Additionally, Bluetooth connectivity provides call and SMS alerts, phone battery status, signal strength status, and the option to accept or reject calls using the button on the left switch cube. Additional features of the motorcycle include a bi-functional LED projector headlamp, LED DRLs, and a USB charging port.

In terms of technical enhancements, the Pulsar N250 now features USD forks in the front suspension, which replace the telescopic units. It also boasts traction control along with a wider 140 section rear tyre. It also comes with three new ride modes for ABS – Rain, Road, and On/Off.

The bike’s graphics and colours have been refreshed with the introduction of Red and White options. Despite these additions, the kerb weight has increased by 2 kg, bringing it to 164 kg. This weight makes the Pulsar N250 the heaviest motorcycle in its segment.

No changes are made to the engine of the bike. Powering the Pulsar N250 is the same 249 cc air and oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine, producing 24.1 Bhp of peak power at 8,750 rpm and 21.5 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm. It comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox with an assist and slipper clutch.

The bike retains its preload adjustable mono-shock at the rear. It comes with disc brakes on both the front and rear. The rear has a smaller 230 mm disc, while the front has a much bigger 300 mm disc brake. The bike still comes with 17-inch wheels with tubeless tyres.

The new Bajaj Pulsar N250 will soon be available in showrooms and the bookings for the same have already started. It will compete against rivals like the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V, Yamaha MT-15, Suzuki Gixxer 250, and KTM 250 Duke in the quarter-litre segment.

The first ever Pulsars were launched back in 2001 and they were the Pulsar 150 and 180. At that time, these bikes offered best in class features and performance at an affordable price point. Currently, the Pulsar brand name has numerous bikes including the Pulsar 125, 150, NS160, NS200, RS200 and the Pulsar 220F. There’s talk of Bajaj bringing in a 400cc Pulsar but details about this motorcycle remain sketchy for now.
