2024 BMW M3 CS vs BMW M2: Drift challenge with Joe Achilles

[ad_1]

Which BMW M car is the better drift machine?

That’s what Paul and UK-based YouTuber Joe Achilles recently set about finding out.

On paper, the M2 shapes up as a more natural drift car. It packs a 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six engine with 338kW of power and 550Nm of torque, sent only to the rear wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission.

But don’t count the M3 CS out. Not only does it have more power and torque, with 405kW and 650Nm from a version of the same engine, its xDrive all-wheel drive system can be locked in rear-wheel drive for plenty of sideways action.

To decide who’s the best drifter of them all, and which car is more suited to hooliganism, Paul and Joe see who can score higher using the BMW M Drift Analyser, construct challenges using a pool noodle, and drive the two cars back-to-back.

Would you buy a BMW M3 CS, or an M2?
