Ford is expanding its F-150 Lightning lineup with the introduction of the 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning Flash, which fills in between the XLT and Lariat models.
The tech-focused variant of the F-150 Lightning features a 320-mile range and a host of tech features, starting at $69,995, before options, destination charge and taxes. Given its base price, the Flash should still qualify for a $7,500 federal tax credit.
“The F-150 Lightning Flash is a direct outcome of engaging with and learning from our customers,” said Marin Gjaja, Chief Operating Officer, Ford Model E, in a statement. “This truck combines many of the technology-forward features our customers love in our EV lineup, at a more accessible price.”
So, it’s little surprise that the Flash features such standard equipment as a 15.5-inch LCD Capacitive Touchscreen, 8-speaker B&O Sound System with HD Radio and subwoofer, keyless entry keypad, and a driver’s side wireless charging pad.
In addition, Ford equips the Lightning with the Tow Technology Package, which includes Pro Trailer Backup Assist, Trailer Brake Controller, Smart Hitch, On-Board Scales, Smart Trailer Tow Connection and Trailer Reverse Guidance. But you also get the Lightning’s power tailgate with its tailgate step and tailgate work surface, as well as a heat pump to optimize the vehicle’s energy consumption.
Ford Blue Cruise 1.2 is on-board as well, which now includes Lane Change Assist, allowing the driver to change lanes hands-free by activating the turn signal.
The 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning lineup starts with the $49,995 standard model, rising through the $57,495 Lightning XLT, $69,995 Lightning Flash, $77,495 Lightning Lariat, and topping out with the $89,995 Lightning Platinum and Lightning Platinum extended range.
Online orders for the 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning Flash open in early 2024 on Ford.com.
