Hyundai Motor India will soon be taking the covers off the brand-new Creta facelift compact SUV in India. It has been reported that the company has sent “Block Your Date” invitations to media outlets for the 16th of January next year.
The company has not specified if the date is being blocked for the Creta facelift unveil; however, recent frequency in the spottings of test mules suggests that it could very likely be for the Creta facelift. The all-new Creta facelift will be getting an extensively redesigned exterior as well as interior with the addition of new features.
Hyundai Creta Facelift
The first Creta facelift was unveiled by the company back in 2021 at the GIIAS 2021 in Indonesia. However, this particular facelift, which was anticipated to be showcased at the 2023 Indian Auto Expo, was not revealed. It was then reported that the company was planning to launch an all-new facelift designed specifically to cater to Indian car buyers. The first test mule received a brand-new front fascia inspired by the Hyundai Tucson, with a giant parametric grille with LED lights and DRLs integrated.
However, as this model was not unveiled in India, speculations started growing. Now, with the recently spotted test mules, it has become clear that the company is taking a different route than the Indonesian market and will be launching a brand-new Creta, which will be inspired by the new Palisade facelift. The recent test mules have suggested that it will come equipped with a brand new parametric grille that we have seen on the new Venue as well.
The headlights will be vertically stacked and could also get new H-shaped headlights as well. In addition, the entire front bumper will also be changed. The side profile of the new Creta facelift will retain the outgoing model’s silhouette. However, it will be getting a brand new alloy wheel set. As for the rear, the new Creta facelift test mules have been spotted sporting H-shaped taillights like the Exter, and these will also get sequential turn indicators.
Interior and Features
Prior reports have mentioned that the upcoming Creta facelift will come equipped with two interior options. The naturally aspirated petrol and diesel variants will be offered with the same black and beige interior. However, the 1.5-litre variant will get an all-black upholstery on the inside. As of yet, no clear pictures of the new dashboard layout have been shared.
However, it is believed that the car could be offered with a pair of 10.25-inch screens, just like its cousin Kia Seltos facelift. Another report has suggested that the Creta facelift will most likely be offered with ADAS features. It will come equipped with a radar as well as a camera on the front windshield. It will also be getting a 360-degree reverse camera.
Creta Facelift powertrain options
Coming to the powertrain options, most likely, the company will continue to offer the same engines as the outgoing model. These options include a 1.5-liter petrol turbocharged engine, which produces a maximum of 160 bhp and 250 Nm of torque, along with a 1.5-liter diesel and a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine. The diesel engine makes around 114 bhp of power and 250 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the naturally aspirated petrol engine makes around 113 PS of power and 144 Nm of torque.
