2024 Kia Sonet facelift officially revealed; Price announcement next year

Kia has unveiled the facelifted version of the Sonet compact SUV, which has arrived with a host of exterior and interior design tweaks in addition to a few new features on board. The facelifted Kia Sonet is the second launch from the Korean car brand after the facelifted Seltos arrived ahead of the festive season. Like before, the refreshed Kia Sonet continues to be available in three trim levels – Tech-Line, GT-Line and X-Line. The pre-bookings of the Kia Sonet facelift will begin on 20th December 2023, with the prices of the compact SUV to be announced next year.

Kia has made subtle changes to the front and rear profiles of the Sonet compact SUV, in addition to a new design for the 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. At the front, the new Kia Sonet gets revised LED headlamps and daytime running LEDs with new vertical extensions flowing downwards.

While the grille has a new design featuring revised inserts and surrounds, the front bumper is new with revised fog lamps, which now have a horizontal design. The rear profile too has been tweaked with new sleeker tail lamps, which are connected by an LED light bar across the boot lid’s width. The rear bumper also looks different, with an updated design and silver skid plates.

Kia Sonet facelift: What’s new on the inside?

The cabin layout of the Kia Sonet remains unchanged, but it does feature a new black and brown upholstery. Along with the features offered before, there are a few new features in the Sonet facelift, which include LED ambient sound lighting, a 10.25-inch full-TFT instrument console, voice-operated sunroof, remote windows up-and-down functionality, rear window sunshades and an air purifier. The Sonet also receives six airbags as standard, along with an updated Kia Connect with more than 70 connected car features.

Kia has retained all three engine options, which were available in the previous iteration of the Sonet for the new facelifted model. The 1.2-litre 83 PS naturally-aspirated petrol engine is offered in the lower-spec trims with a standard 5-speed manual transmission. Then, there is the 1.0-litre 120 PS turbocharged petrol engine, which is offered with 6-speed iMT and 7-speed DCT gearbox options. Lastly, the 1.5-litre 115 PS diesel engine is being offered with three transmission choices – 6-speed manual, 6-speed iMT and 6-speed automatic.
