[ad_1]
The 2024 Lexus UX is a great small crossover for an urban dweller with its chic design, small footprint and hybrid powertrain. This compact crossover SUV, vying for attention alongside rivals like the BMW X1 and Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class, impresses with its style, fuel efficiency, and safety features.
Last year the Lexus UX received a new much improved infotainment system and some chassis upgrades, but for the 2024 model year it carries over largely unchanged,
The 2024 Lexus UX brings a fresh lifestyle statement to the table. Where the larger NX and RX SUVs feature a more traditional SUV shape, the UX bridges the gap between a small hatchback and an SUV. Making it perfect for buyers that want something that looks a bit more agile and expressive than a normal SUV.
Under the hood the UX 250h comes standard with a hybrid powertrain that mates a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine to an electric motor to generate a combined 181 horsepower. The optional all-wheel drive system adds an additional electric motor at the rear axle for when extra traction is needed. The good news is that the UX 250h has great fuel economy specs at 43/41/42 mpg with front-wheel drive and 41/38/39 with all-wheel drive models. As you’d expect from those specs, the UX doesn’t exactly sprint off the line with a 0-60 mph time of 8.4 seconds with FWD and 8.6 seconds with AWD.
The UX’s handling is decent with more emphasis placed on comfort than sport. But around town the UX feels agile on its feet and provides a comfortable ride. The UX 250h F Sport Handling model provides slightly sportier handling with its sport tuned suspension.
On the safety front, the UX comes equipped with a range of crash-avoidance features as standard, which are often optional on competitors, including automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitors, and active lane control.
Inside, the UX maintains a more conventional design, with a driver-centric dash layout. The infotainment screen is seamlessly integrated into the dashboard, flanked by well-organized ancillary controls and traditional switches. Unlike some competitors, Lexus retains physical buttons and knobs for ease of use.
The 2024 Lexus UX maximizes its interior space efficiently. Both the front seats and cargo area provide ample space. Lexus uses synthetic leather upholstery across the board, ensuring a high-quality finish. However, the rear-seat area is a little snug, with 33.1 inches of legroom, making it a tight squeeze for taller passengers. The UX also offers around 17 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats.
The pricing for the 2024 Lexus UX 250h starts at a reasonable $36,690.
For those seeking a luxury urban crossover that seamlessly blends style with eco-conscious living, the 2024 Lexus UX stands as an appealing choice. It embodies the essence of a true Lexus, creating a serene and refined driving experience while offering avant-garde aesthetics. With its new hybrid-only powertrain, the UX is aligned with an environmentally conscious lifestyle, making it a compelling option.
