Ahead of its official unveiling in Portugal, images of the all-new third-generation Renault Duster have already surfaced on the internet. Similar to the previous two generation models, the third-gen Renault Duster continues to be based on the Dacia Duster, which is available in certain European markets.

The leaked front three-quarter image of the all-new Renault Duster offers a glimpse of the midsize SUV’s exterior styling. In contrast to the first-generation Duster sold in India until 2022, the new Renault Duster appears sharper, sporting several angular design elements and creases inspired by the Renault Bigster concept. While larger and sharper than its predecessor, it retains the muscular appeal of the older Duster sold in India.

The front of the new Renault Duster showcases Y-shaped daytime running LEDs within the headlamp housings, along with a rectangular, sleek-looking grille featuring horizontal chrome elements. Additionally, the front bumper incorporates vertical air vents beside rounded fog lamp units, integrated into the inverted U-shaped lower grille area, resembling a bull bar.

The leaked images by Dacializate also reveal the side profile of the new Renault Duster, hinting at new design elements such as squared-off wheel arches, a bulge over the rear fender, roof rails, and a tapering rear quarter window panel. Notably, below the rearview mirrors, the new Duster flaunts a distinctive “shadow-line” design element extending vertically to the side body moulding. Moreover, the SUV is equipped with blacked-out alloy wheels.

Three engine options

Moving to the back, the all-new Duster boasts V-shaped LED tail lamps, a smaller rear windscreen, and a hexagonal housing for the rear license plate. Globally, the third-generation Renault Duster (and Dacia Duster) will offer three powertrain options—a 1.0-litre 120 bhp turbocharged petrol engine, a 1.2-litre 140 bhp petrol-hybrid engine, and a 1.3-litre 170 bhp turbocharged petrol engine.

There are reports suggesting that the new third-generation Renault Duster will hit the Indian market ahead of the festive season in 2025. Considering the readiness of the global-spec model, its arrival in India might be sooner. Once launched, the new Duster will face stiffer competition from rivals like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Honda Elevate, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor, and Citroen C3 Aircross.
