The highlight of Suzuki’s stand at the Japan Mobility Show 2023 was undoubtedly the new Swift. Despite being dubbed a concept, the model closely previews the production version which is set to debut in 2024.
The current Suzuki Swift was introduced in late 2016 and received a mild facelift in 2020, so it was in need of a major update. The new generation retains some of the signature styling cues of its predecessor, but the entire bodywork has been redesigned.

The 2024 Suzuki Swift measures 3,860 mm (152 inches) long, 1,695 mm (66.7 inches) wide, and 1,500 mm (59.1 inches) tall, with a wheelbase of 2,450 mm (96.5 inches). Those figures are nearly identical to the outgoing model, all but confirming it will be based on an evolved version of the Heartect architecture.
The company didn’t say much about the powertrain other than describing it as a “high-efficiency” engine with “low fuel consumption” that is mated to a CVT gearbox. However, those who got a look under the bonnet of the exhibits in Tokyo saw a three-cylinder motor with a mild-hybrid system.
This is a developing story and will be updated…
