Toyota has launched its newest and most unique offering in the country: the Urban Cruiser Taisor. This new crossover SUV is based on the Maruti Suzuki Fronx. Because of this, it shares a number of things with Fronx. However, it still gets a lot of unique design updates. Following is the image gallery of the Toyota Taisor crossover.
Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor: Exterior
First off, let’s talk about the exterior design of the Taisor. It gets a similar front fascia as the Fronx. However, the differentiating factor is its honeycomb pattern grille and brushed silver Toyota emblem.

The design of the ORVMs of the Taisor has also been kept the same as its Maruti counterpart. It gets twin LED indicators.
The Toyota Taisor will be offered with an optional dual-tone paint job. Models opted with this dual-tone paint scheme will get a high-gloss black roof.
One of the major highlights of the Urban Cruiser Taisor is the addition of new alloy wheels. It gets new 16-inch diamond-cut 10-spoke alloy wheels.
Moving on to the rear section, the Taisor gets an exactly same rear-end design as the Fronx. The only differences noticeable are the Toyota and Urban Cruiser Taisor badges. It will also get a rear wiper, washer, and defogger as well.
Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor: Interior
The overall layout of the Toyota Taisor is exactly the same as the Fronx. It gets the same layered layout and dual-tone colorway. Apart from the Toyota badge on the steering wheel, everything looks the same as its Maruti counterpart.
The main highlight of the Taisor’s interior is its 9-inch Smartplay floating touchscreen infotainment system. It uses the same interface as the Maruti Fronx. It also gets Android Auto and Apple Carplay.
It will also come equipped with a multifunction steering wheel. It will get controls for volume, track, and phone. This steering wheel, like the Fronx, is a flat-bottom steering wheel.
The Taisor will also get a head-up display which will display all the crucial vehicle information for the driver to see.
Another one of the premium features on the Taisor will be the 360-degree reverse camera.
It will also come offered with a 60:40 rear split seat.
Front passengers will also get an armrest in the middle.
The Taisor will also get a sizable boot space. It will have a capacity of 308 liters.
Toyota will also be offering the Taisor with a set of premium speakers.
It will also come equipped with a wireless charger at the front as well.
Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor: TVC
Toyota Kirloskar Motor India has launched the Urban Cruiser Taisor as an active lifestyle vehicle. The company has positioned it for the people who like to live an active lifestyle. To promote this concept, the company has also released a brand new teaser for this crossover SUV.
The TVC starts with an athlete jumping into the ocean. On the shore and orange Taisor is seen parked. The video then transitions into another athlete riding a bicycle as part of the triathlon.
During this transition, the video highlights the features of the Taisor such as the paddle shifters and head-up displays. The TVC also shows the wireless charger and its 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels as well. It ends with the athletes finishing off the triathlon and the Taisor being part of this active lifestyle.
Urban Cruiser Taisor: Variants and pricing
The Urban Cruiser Taisor just like the Fronx will be offered with two powertrain options. The first will be a 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine. It will make 90 PS of power and 113 Nm of torque. This engine will come mated to a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed automatic.
In addition, the company will also be offering the 1.0-liter turbo petrol engine as well. This engine will make 100 PS of power and 147 Nm of torque. As for the transmission options, it will be offered with a 5-speed manual as well as a 6-speed automatic transmission.
As for the variants, the 1.2-liter engine model will come in 6 variants. The base E MT will be priced at Rs 7.73 lakh, then there will be the E MT CNG at Rs 8.71 lakh.
The company will also offer the Taisor in S MT and S AMT variants priced at Rs 8.59 and Rs 9.12 lakh respectively. Lastly, there will be the S+ MT and AMT variants priced at Rs 8.99 lakh and Rs 9.52 lakh respectively.
Meanwhile, the 1.0-liter engine model will also come in 6 variants. These will be namely G MT priced at Rs 10.55 lakh, G AT at Rs 11.95 lakh, V MT at Rs 11.47 lakh, and V AT at Rs 12.87 lakh. Additionally, there will be V MT and AT Dual-tone variants priced at Rs 11.63 and Rs 13.03 lakh respectively.
Maruti Suzuki Fronx vs Toyota Taisor
As mentioned above, both of these SUVs share the exact same underpinnings. They both are based on Maruti Suzuki’s Heartect platform. Except for the exterior design changes and badges, there are no differences between the two crossovers.
So far, Maruti Suzuki has witnessed great success with the Fronx in the country. And because of this, Toyota is expected to see the same results with the Taisor. The Maruti Suzuki Fronx starts at Rs 7.51 lakh and goes up to Rs 13.03. The Taisor base variant is slightly more expensive than the Fronx based variant.
