AUSTIN (KXAN) — The City of Austin received more than $4.1 million to fund the construction of a new bicycle and pedestrian bridge across Lady Bird Lake in east Austin.
Congressman Greg Casar (D-Texas) presented a celebratory big check to city leaders Thursday morning during an event near Longhorn Dam at Town Lake Metropolitan Park. The federal investment totaled $4,116,279.
According to a release, the bridge is part of the city’s Longhorn Dam Multimodal Improvements project and would be shaped like a wishbone.
