LIVE: Saints slam ‘whack’ ban, plea for minor sanction

Adrain Anderson (St Kilda) continues his defence for Webster, saying the punishment is out of proportion.
“The need to protect players for head injuries is not suddenly a new phenomenon in 2024,” he said.
“These are the standards that are evolving over a period of 20 years.”
Anderson says this potential punishment is “massive”.
“What is a massive, sudden shift in sanction, which is out of whack with the evolution over time,” he said.
“St Kilda and Jimmy Webster support … the standards change over time.
“There’s no need for that specific deterrance, but it needs to be proportionate.”
