China US talks: Biden and Xi hail ‘substantial progress’

There might be no agreement on the future of Taiwan, but China will send America more pandas to “deepen the friendly ties” between the two countries.
President Biden has hailed what he called “substantial progress” after four hours of talks with China’s leader Xi Jinping, on the fringes of a global trade summit in San Francisco.
The two leaders found common ground on a range of issues – although less so over Tawan, as Xi insisted that Chinese reunification was “unstoppable”.
