The French automotive giant Renault started the trend of mid-size SUVs in India with the Duster. The model went on to become one of the most popular vehicles in India but was discontinued due to no updates and increased competition. However, there is good news for Duster lovers. The company will be relaunching the model in India, and we have seen its concept on a number of different occasions. Recently, on further advancement of this SUV, a set of sketches of this SUV has leaked online. These sketches compare the upcoming model with the old model that was sold in the international markets, and it also shows the complete exterior design of it.

First off, we have to mention that these sketches of the forthcoming Renault Duster have come courtesy of Motor1. From the leaked pictures, we can note that the front of the new SUV will offer a much more raised appearance. The vehicle’s height has been increased, and it now looks a lot more butch and bold. The front fascia now features much sleeker headlights and grille section.

It will come equipped with thick Y-shaped LED headlights, and the grille will comprise four rectangular elements with the Renault logo in between. The front bumper has also been made a lot larger, and it will come equipped with a massive silver skid plate that extends into the middle portion of the bumper. There will be a mesh grille on the lower portion as well.

Moving to the side, the new generation of the Duster can be noted to come with a much boxier appearance and bigger SUV proportions. The sketches show a muscular presence, with hidden door handles, distinctive rectangular wheel arches, and massive side claddings. The roof can be seen with the signature silver and black roof rails, and the windows have also become sleeker. The rear quarter windows’ size has decreased significantly. A set of new 10-spoke dual-tone diamond-cut alloys can also be noted in the sketches.

Coming to the rear end of the upcoming Duster, it reveals a significantly sportier design. The new design is highlighted by a generously sized tailgate, V-shaped LED taillights, and a double-bubble spoiler on top of the tailgate. The rear bumper has been changed completely and will now feature a massive silver skid plate along with the extension of black plastic claddings.

Next Generation Renault Duster Platform and Powertrain

According to reports, the newest generation of the popular Renault Duster will be utilizing the French automaker’s renowned CMF-B platform. This platform is currently utilized by the Renault Clio, Renault Captur, and Renault Arkana. As for the powertrain options, it has been reported that the company will be giving a farewell to its diesel engines in Western Europe.

It is believed that the Duster in international markets will first arrive with both the entry-level 1.0 TCe GPL with 105 bhp and the 1.6 hybrid with 140 bhp. As per the reports, the company will also offer a 1.2 48V hybrid motor with a manual transmission and 130 horsepower. The company could also be offering the new Duster with a brand-new dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Now, which of these engine options will be offered in India is something that has not been reported as of yet.

Renault Duster Launch in India

Recently, it was announced that Renault will be globally unveiling the upcoming generation of the Duster on November 29th. As for its official launch dates in India, they have not been announced; however, reports have suggested that it will be making its debut in 2025 in India. Once launched, it will now be facing the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Volkswagen Taigun, Honda Elevate, Skoda Kushaq, and others in India.
