We all are aware of the fact that electric vehicles are gaining a lot of popularity in India and also across the globe. Numerous legacy automakers are launching new EV products, and people are buying them up. Another thing that people are doing to move towards electrification is that they are retrofitting their old vehicles with EV drivetrains to make them usable. Recently, a video of one such old Mahindra Willys Jeep conversion into an EV has been shared online. It’s priced at just Rs. 2.6 lakh, making it even cheaper than the recently launched Royal Enfield Himalayan 452.

The video of this Mahindra Willy Jeep with an EV drivetrain has been shared on YouTube by Santa Singh Vlogs on their channel. Now, before beginning with the actual description of the video, one thing has to be made clear. The Jeep in the video is not exactly a real Jeep; instead, it is a Jeep look-alike EV. This is a custom project that has been made to look like a Jeep and gets different parts from other vehicles to make it work.

Exterior and interior design of Jeep EV

Now with this clear, we can start off with the design of this vehicle. The presenter in the video mentions that this EV Jeep has been created with a fiber body, and it looks exactly like the vintage Willys Jeep that was once extremely popular in India. He shows that the shop that has created it has added custom LED headlights on the front, and the chassis has been kept exposed. The presenter also shows a 30-liter front trunk inside the bonnet as well.
