Snow hits Chicago area, with up to 2 inches expected

Snow was falling across the Chicago area Sunday morning, and the National Weather Service was forecasting that as much as two inches might be left on the city and suburbs and possibly three inches across northwestern Illinois.

A winter weather advisory remains in effect until 2 p.m. Sunday, with most of the snow expected by 10 a.m.

The weather service said to expect slower travel times and slick road conditions.
