Coastal flood advisory issued for parts of Bay Area
[ad_1]
(KRON) — The National Weather Service has issued a coastal flood advisory for Monday for the San Francisco Bay and North Bay shorelines.
The advisory warns of possible minor coastal flooding due to high astronomical tides. Areas around San Francisco Bay and the North Bay could be subjected to minor flooding, with seawater on low lying areas. Flooding could also occur on roadways and underpasses, coastal trails and sidewalks, and accessways to beaches and coastal trails.
NWS said coastal flooding does not necessarily have to do with precipitation.
The advisory will be in effect Monday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
