With falling snow providing the perfect backdrop, the John Hersey High School Charles Dickens Carolers helped their audience get into the holiday spirit Sunday during a performance at the Prospect Heights Public Library.

Under the direction of Sara Michael and wearing Victorian-era attire, the a cappella choral group performed traditional holiday and madrigal music.

“I look back on my own high school career, and I was in show choir and I was in a madrigal group, and the memories that I have most are from this type of a group, because you’re able to interact in the community,” Michael said.

Jodie Skoropad of Arlington Heights and her daughter Emily, 5, were in the front row.

“We’re just excited to celebrate the holidays and see all the local talent this year,” Skoropad said.
