Giddey cops wrath of rival fans amid NBA probe

Josh Giddey has been ruthlessly booed by NBA fans in Minnesota as he continues to play despite allegations of a relationship with an underage girl.
An NBA investigation into the allegations is ongoing, and Giddey’s team, the Oklahoma City Thunder, has refused to take him out of the line-up.
Wednesday’s clash with the Timberwolves was Giddey’s first appearance on the road since the allegations surfaced late last week and it was clear what the fans thought of the 21-year-old.

It did not take long for the fans to get on the Australian’s back, booing as he received the ball from teammate Chet Holmgren and banked in a floater inside the first two minutes.
The booing comes just a day after Australian basketball great Andrew Bogut said the “damage has been done” to Giddey’s reputation, regardless of the outcome of the NBA’s probe.
“The damage has been done to his PR regardless of what the result is,” Bogut said on his podcast, Rogue Bogues.
“We’ve had trial by media over the last 30 years and now trial by social media is probably a hundred times worse.
“It’s just a messy situation.
“Josh hopefully learns a life lesson from this regardless of where it goes.”
