Fresh twist in bitter netball pay dispute

[ad_1]

Australia’s top netball stars who have gone some two months without pay are currently in a meeting to discuss a fresh proposal from the sport’s governing body.

Netball Australia has proposed an 11 per cent pay rise, as well as back pay from October 1 – the day after the previous collective player agreement expired on September 30.

The expiry of the agreement has meant players are out of contract, have little job security and have not been paid in the eight weeks since.

The Australian Netball Players Association and players are currently meeting to discuss the proposal.

“This offer we have put forward would allow them to be paid immediately, while we continue negotiations with ANPA on building a financial model for the league,” NA boss Kelly Ryan said.
