Watch: Buddy Hield runs up the score at the buzzer

Point differential doesn’t matter in the knockout round of the in-season tournament. Buddy Hield acted like it did.
With Indiana leading 119-112, Hield stole the ball from Jayson Tatum for the second straight possession. Boston stopped playing, and Hield drilled an undefended three at the buzzer.
Normally a player would let the game clock expire, but perhaps teams were so used to running up the score in tournament games that they just kept shooting. Or, thy couldn’t deny the crowd.
Hield scored nine of his 21 points and made two of his four three-pointers in the final minute of the game, including a shot that gave the Pacers a seven-point lead and made Indiana’s PA announcer almost lose his mind.
The Pacers advanced to play the winner of Tuesday’s Knicks-Bucks game in the in-season semifinals. After Monday’s big win, whoever plays the Pacers will expect they won’t let up. even if the game has been decided.
