Beyond the 22-yeard circle, cricketers usually enjoy their lavish lifestyles to the fullest, with many owning some of the most exclusive luxury cars in the world. One such car, which has become a common choice of cricketers in recent times, is the legendary Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen. The flagship and hardcore off-road luxury SUV from Mercedes-Benz has an impressive fan base around the world, which also includes some of the popular cricketers from the modern era, who are as follows:

One of the best all-rounders of modern cricket, Hardik Pandya, was reportedly the first cricketer to buy a G-Wagen. The middle-order batsman, who also serves as a medium-pace bowler, bought a Mojave Silver-coloured Mercedes-Benz G 63 a few years ago, which also features a custom red-themed interior.

Shreyas Iyer

Another middle-order batsman from the current Indian cricket team, Shreyas Iyer, also followed in the footsteps of his teammate Hardik Pandya by adding a Mercedes-AMG G 63, and that too in the same Mojave Silver colour as the latter. Shreyas also went one step ahead by customizing his G-Wagen with an exclusive Brabus kit.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni

Inarguably the most successful captain in the history of Indian cricket, Mahendra Singh Dhoni already has the best car and motorcycle collection among all the sportspersons in the country. The former Indian cricket team captain recently added a Magnetite Black-coloured Mercedes-AMG G 63, which was recently seen in a video of him driving the G-Wagen that went viral on social media platforms.

Jos Buttler

The explosive batsman from England, and the current captain of the English cricket team, Jos Buttler also owns a G-Wagen back in his home country, England. While not many details are available about the version of the G-Wagen owned by Jos Buttler, the cricketer reportedly owns the iconic Mercedes-Benz SUV alongside a BMW X2.

About Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen

The G-Wagen is undoubtedly one of the most iconic SUVs in the modern era, having a rich legacy spanning decades. The old-school luxury SUV is the only offering from Mercedes-Benz to be based on a ladder-on-frame chassis. The Indian car market received two versions of the G-Wagen – the petrol-powered Mercedes-AMG G 63 and Mercedes-Benz G 400d.

Among the two versions, the Mercedes-AMG G 63 is the more powerful one, with the AMG-prepped SUV featuring a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine that produces 577 bhp of maximum power and 850 Nm of maximum torque. On the other hand, the Mercedes-Benz G 400d gets a 3.0-litre inline-six diesel engine, which develops 326 bhp of power and 700 Nm of torque. A 9-speed automatic transmission is the standard gearbox in both versions of the G-Wagen.
