NEW DELHI: In a dominating performance, seamer Raj Limbani delivered a remarkable spell, claiming exceptional figures of 7/13, propelling India to a comprehensive 10-wicket victory over Nepal to clinch a semi-final berth in the U-19 Asia Cup tournament in Dubai on Tuesday.
Limbani’s outstanding bowling display restricted Nepal to a mere 52 runs in 22.1 overs.Following this impressive feat, all-rounderArshin Kulkarni (43 not out) showcased his skills, hitting five massive sixes to swiftly chase down the target in just 7.1 overs, leaving IPL scouts intrigued.
The Indian Colts, under the leadership of Uday Saharan, faced a crucial task in winning their final league game to secure a spot in the knockout stage after suffering a defeat against archrivals Pakistan by eight wickets.
They executed their game plan flawlessly against Nepal, who were already out of contention after losing both their group league games. Unfortunately for Nepal, none of their players managed to reach double digits in their last match, sealing their exit from the tournament.

The lanky 18-year-old right-arm seamer from Baroda, Limbani, known for his mid-120s inswingers, displayed exceptional skills by preventing any of the Nepalese batters from settling down. He consistently pitched the ball up, generating ample movement, contributing to his impressive figures of 7/13.
While Limbani’s performance was outstanding, it doesn’t surpass the remarkable feat achieved by former pacer Irfan Pathan, who recorded extraordinary figures of 9/16 against Bangladesh in the Junior Asia Cup in Lahore back in 2004.

Hemant Dhami emerged as the top scorer for Nepal with 8 runs, featuring two boundaries that helped the team cross the 50-run mark.
The chase posed no challenge for India, and opener Arshin showcased his prowess by effortlessly dispatching the Nepal bowlers. His explosive batting not only made the run chase a mere formality but also sent a strong message to IPL recruiters, signaling that he is a promising newcomer worth keeping a close eye on.
Arshin had previously scored an unbeaten 70 and took three wickets in the opening game against Afghanistan but had a relatively quiet outing against Pakistan.
However, on this particular day, he entertained the dug-out, making light work of the modest target while also contributing with a wicket in his bowling stint.
Brief Scores: Nepal U-19 52 in 22.1 overs (Raj Limbani 7/13). India 52/0 in 7.1 overs (Arshin Kulkarni 43 not out).
