IndiGo to link Ayodhya with Delhi & Ahmedabad before Shri Ram temple inauguration – Times of India

NEW DELHI: IndiGo will be the first airline to operate flights at the soon to open Ayodhya Airport. The budget carrier will start direct flights between Ayodhya and Delhi from January 6; and Ayodhya and Ahmedabad five days later. Other airlines are also going to have flights to the holy city that is all set to become a major magnet for visitors with the grand Shri Ram

“IndiGo will have the honour of being the first carrier to operate from the soon to be inaugurated Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram International Airport in Ayodhya. The inaugural flight from Delhi will arrive in Ayodhya on December 30, 2023. Subsequently, commercial operations for a direct flight will commence between Delhi and Ayodhya from January 6, 2024, followed by tri-weekly flights between Ahmedabad and Ayodhya from January 11, 2024,” IndiGo said in a statement.
With the inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya scheduled for January 2024, the city is poised for a surge in traveller numbers. Thanks to the Ayodhya airport pilgrims will get direct access to Ayodhya.

The new flights connecting Delhi-Ayodhya and Ahmedabad-Ayodhya will bring Ayodhya on the country’s aviation map.
