Roundup of the latest Sky Bet Championship action as Leicester extended their lead at the summit.

Stephy Mavididi’s brace plus Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s strike saw Leicester stay top with a 3-2 win away at Birmingham City, despite Jordan James netting twice for the hosts.

Ipswich remain second but now three points off the summit after Wes Burns rescued a 2-2 draw at home to Norwich in the East-Anglian derby, after Jonathan Rowe’s brace saw the Canaries come from behind to lead after Nathan Broadhead initially put the hosts ahead.

Third-placed Leeds were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw at home to Coventry after Crysencio Summerville’s opening goal had been cancelled out by Bobby Thomas’ header, which led tensions to boil over at Elland Road upon the final whistle.

Samuel Edozie, Stuart Armstrong, Sekou Mara and Carlos Alcaraz netted for fourth-placed Southampton in a dominant 4-0 home win over Blackburn, as the visitors finished with ten men after Callum Brittain was sent off in the 55th minute for kicking the ball out of play in frustration.

Brandon Thomas-Asante cancelled out Lynden Gooch’s 12th minute strike as fifth-placed West Brom fought back to hold Stoke to a 1-1 draw at The Hawthorns.

Quick-fire second half goals from Scott Twine and Ozan Tufan saw Hull round out the top six with a 3-0 home victory over Cardiff, having taken a first half lead through Aaron Connolly.

Down in the relegation zone, Rotherham remain rock bottom following a dramatic 3-2 defeat at Plymouth, having led through Jamie Lindsay before Finn Azaz’s brace put Argyle ahead after Daniel Ayala’s red card before Tom Eaves restored parity until Morgan Whittaker’s injury-time winner.

Late goals from Bailey Cadamarteri and Anthony Musaba saw second-bottom Sheffield Wednesday beat third-bottom QPR 2-1 at Hillsborough, after the visiting Hoops had led through Bambo Diaby’s 37th minute own-goal.

Huddersfield moved two points clear of the drop after Delano Burgzorg’s injury time penalty saw them snatch a 1-1 draw at Millwall, after the Lions had taken the lead through Brooke Norton-Cuffy’s second goal for the Lions this season.

Elsewhere, Vakoun Bayo’s brace saw Watford fight back to win 5-1 away at Preston with Matheus Martins, Edo Kayembe and Ismael Kone also on the scoresheet for the Hornets after Will Keane had initially put the hosts ahead in the 27th minute.

Samuel Silvera’s free-kick saw Middlesbrough win 2-1 at Swansea after having led through Sam Greenwood’s first-half goal, which was cancelled out by Jamal Lowe early in the second half.

Finally, Tommy Conway’s 20th minute penalty saw Bristol City snatch a 1-0 win over Sunderland at Ashton Gate, after Taylor Gardner-Hickman had been fouled by Anthony Patterson.
