Set to go on sale shortly, the RZ 300e eschews all-wheel drive for a front-mounted motor developing 201 hp (150 kW / 204 PS). That’s 107 hp (80 kW / 108 PS) less than the RZ 450e, but the front-wheel drive variant starts at $55,150 which makes it $4,700 less expensive than the all-wheel drive model.
Besides being cheaper, the RZ 300e has a slightly larger 72.8 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. This enables the crossover to have an EPA-estimated range of 266 miles (428 km) when equipped with 18-inch wheels. 20-inch wheels are also available, but they drop the range to a mere 224 miles (360 km).

Review: The Lexus RZ 450e Makes Going Electric EZ
Both are improvements over the RZ 450e, which has a 71.4 kWh battery and an EPA-estimated range of 220 miles (354 km) when equipped with 18-inch wheels. With 20-inchers, it can only travel 196 miles (315 km).
The powertrain isn’t the only thing that’s different as the RZ 300e has a unique rear subframe that “suppresses vibrations and noise, contributing to a smooth and quiet ride.”

Putting the entry-level model aside, the 2024 RZ is available in a new Copper Crest color. The EV also comes equipped with a new “dual-voltage charging cable,” which works with 120V and 240V outlets.
Lexus didn’t say much else about the crossover, but it comes equipped with NuLuxe upholstery, “shadow illumination,” and a 14-inch infotainment system. Buyers will also find an assortment of driver assistance systems including All-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Tracing Assist, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Road Sign Assist, and a Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection.
