A fourth teenager was arrested by Aurora police this week in connection with a fatal shooting and scooter theft in the Del Mar Park neighborhood in August.
The 17-year-old Aurora boy was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of first-degree murder and aggravated robbery in the death of Miguel Angel Saucedo Araujo, 49, on Aug. 23.
The boy’s name was not released because he is a minor, according to the Aurora Police Department.
Police arrested a 16-year-old boy in September and a 15-year-old boy in October on suspicion of first-degree murder and other charges in the shooting.
Ahmed Mohamed, 18, was also arrested in October on suspicion of first-degree murder and is the only suspect whose name has been released. He was 17 at the time of the shooting.
According to Aurora police, the four teenagers are suspected of stealing scooters from outside a home in the 900 block of Paris Street in the early hours of Aug. 23, which is when Araujo and his son confronted them and chased them as they fled.
The suspects opened fire on Araujo and his son during the chase, and after the two returned home, a vehicle drove by the front of their house and fired several rounds into the building, fatally wounding Araujo, according to previous reports.
There are no outstanding suspects in the case, according to Aurora police.
