The Volkswagen Polo, despite being axed from the Volkswagen lineup in India, is still loved by automotive enthusiasts. What people love about it is its tuning potential and the crazy amounts of power that it can make. Recently, a video was shared online which featured the country’s most powerful Volkswagen Polo 1.5 TDI. This particular car has been given mods worth Rs 6.65 lakh and it makes a whopping 200 wheel horsepower and 400 Nm of torque.

This immensely powerful Volkswagen Polo TDI’s video has been shared on YouTube by The Drivers Hub on their channel. The presenter of the video starts off with the introduction of this bright red Polo. He mentions that it has come to Pune to their shop all the way from Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The presenter then elaborates that this particular car is the fastest and most powerful Polo TDI in India because it has been given a Volkswagen Passats CR170 turbo. It also has a number of other mods, and he talks about them and also provides the pricing for each one of them.

Engine mods

First off, the host opens the bonnet of the car which has been given new hydraulic struts. Next up, he starts mentioning all of the mods done on this hatchback along with the prices. The first mod he states is a bigger Garret CR170 turbo from a Volkswagen Passat that costs Rs 70,000. The car also gets Darkside Developments Turbo muffler delete, intercooler plumbing, and charge pipes worth Rs 62,000, Garret intercooler for Rs 30,000, stainless steel downpipe for Rs 18,000, Magnaflow end can for Rs 20,000.

Apart from these, this Polo TDI has also been given an ITG air filter worth Rs 12,000. The presenter adds that to make the shifts smoother, it has also been given a Rs 10,000 short shifter as well. In addition, the car has also been given a custom tune by Venom Performance which provides it with the capability to produce a mind-bending 195 wheel horsepower. For those who may not be aware, wheel horsepower is lower than crank horsepower as there is a loss of power during its production at the crank and utilization at the wheels.

Performance figures

The presenter states that as it sits, the car makes around 220 bhp at the crank. What is also equally impressive is that it makes a total of 400 Nm of peak torque, which in a car of the size of a Polo is immense. He mentions that with a Dragy GPS acceleration measuring performance meter, the owner and his friend measured a 14.45 sec quarter-mile acceleration. This is an absurdly powerful acceleration for a car this size. Lastly, the presenter adds up the total cost of engine mods and it comes out to about Rs 2.67 lakh.

Exterior modifications

Next up, the presenter starts listing the modifications done on the exterior of this car that give this car its unique appearance. He starts with the wheels of the car which are 17-inch aftermarket wheels that cost Rs 1 lakh, Bridgestone Potenza tires worth Rs 40,000, R-Line front bumper for Rs 30,000, side skirts for Rs 10,000, GTI taillights worth Rs 12,000, and GTI headlight with Hella Projectors and bi-Xenon light worth Rs 70,000.

Additionally, the car has also been given MTS suspension worth Rs 60,000, and also some other Euro spec suspension mods worth Rs 15,000, and an OEM big brake kit with Brembo drilled discs worth Rs 60,000. Lastly, he mentions that the exterior modifications alone on this car are worth Rs 3.97 lakh. Taking the total cost of this build to Rs 6.64 lakh.

After the engine and exterior modifications, the presenter then takes this Polo TDI out for a spin. He mentions that this particular car is an absolute fun machine. The power that it makes is immense and with the push of the accelerator, it pins down the driver into the seat. He added that the tune on this car has been kept extremely aggressive which means that the bigger turbo takes more time to spool, however, once it spools it just goes.
