Road closures in Surrey due to propane leak at gas station – BC | Globalnews.ca

Surrey RCMP are asking people to avoid an area of the Port Kells neighbourhood as crews deal with a gas leak.

Police said road closures were in effect around 88th Avenue and Harvie Road due to a propane leak at a gas station Wednesday afternoon.

The immediate area was evacuated as a precaution.

Harvie Road was closed from 90th to 188th street, while 88th Avenue was closed from 187th Street to 192 Street.

It was not immediately clear how the leak started.

It is the same intersection where one person was found dead after a gas station burned down in 2019.
