Sikh man using Toyota Fortuner as a ‘Dhaba on wheels’ [Video]

[ad_1]

There are numerous makeshift restaurants that people set-up in their vehicles along the roads. We have seen many of them. This one though is a restaurant set inside a Toyota Fortuner.

The video shows a man serving food and he also talks about the price of the plate. This is an old Fortuner. Since we could not see the registration number or the model properly, we are not sure about the make year of this vehicle.

The Fortuner is parked on a roadside with drums filled with food kept in the boot of the vehicle. There are a few different options but the video shows only one type of food.

The location of this Fortuner restaurant is likely to be in Punjab. One should note that numerous such vehicles are sold off by the residents of Delhi-NCR due to the 10-year diesel vehicle ban and 15-year old petrol vehicle ban in place. Since the vehicles that pass these times since registration cannot be re-registered and used in Delhi-NCR, people from neighbouring states get lucrative deals. Depending on the age of this Fortuner and overall condition, it would have costed only a couple of lakhs only.

There are many such similar car restaurants that operate on the roads. Since such places do not go through the government checking and do not need to pay taxes, you can spot these along the roads often. This is an affordable way of starting a business. However, one should be aware about the hygiene of such foods.

Kia Carens MPV spotted doing the same

There was a video shared by Harsimran Singh on his Instagram page featuring a man from Delhi who used to sell food from the back of his brand new Kia Carens MPV. In the video, the vlogger had a conversation with the man who was selling homemade food from the back of his car.

The man mentioned that all the food he sold was prepared by his wife. The exact location of the car in Delhi was not mentioned in the video. It did not explain how the man started this business or the reason behind it. The video did mention that the Kia Carens featured in the video was a new car. The car owner would fold the third row seats of the Carens and sell food to customers from the back of his car. The video did not provide any details about the car itself.

There are several others who have modified their vehicles to set-up such shops. In a video that went viral earlier this year, Tapsi Upadhyay, a 21-year-old woman, introduced herself and expressed her belief that age is just a number. Despite facing criticism for her choices, as she is an engineering graduate and a woman, Tapsi disregarded these stereotypes and continued pursuing her passion.

During the video, Tapsi gave a brief tour of her food cart. She showcased her unique twist on pani puris, which were air-fried and made without refined flour. Tapsi explained that the flavorful water used in the pani puris was made by roasting spices in earthen pots and crushing them by hand. Additionally, she showcased her homemade tamarind and jaggery sweet chutney. Notably, Tapsi served her delicious snacks in eco-friendly bowls made from leaves.
