Redwood City man arrested on suspicion of threatening church employee with box cutter

REDWOOD CITY – A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of threatening a church employee with a box cutter Monday evening in Redwood City, police said.
The incident happened around 7:30 p.m. in the 1300 block of Middlefield Road, according to the Redwood City Police Department.
A witness reported seeing a man threaten a Street Life Ministries employee with a knife, police said.
No injuries were reported.
Officers detained the man, identified as a resident of Redwood City, near the intersection of Spruce and Chew streets. He had a box cutter on him, according to police.
The victim, along with two witnesses, identified the man as the person who threatened him, police said.
The man was booked into San Mateo County jail on an assault with a deadly weapon charge.
