Man fatally shot inside Englewood convenience store

CHICAGO — A man is dead and an investigation is underway after a shooting inside a convenience store on the city’s South Side.
According to Chicago police, the shooting happened inside a convenience store in the 6300 block of South Ashland Avenue in Englewood just after 3 p.m. on Sunday.
Police say the victim, a 40-year-old man, was inside the business when was approached by an individual who pulled out a gun and opened fire.
Officers say the victim was badly injured after he was shot in the head. He was then taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Currently, it is unclear what led to the shooting and authorities have not yet provided a description of the individual responsible.
Authorities have not identified the victim killed and say an investigation is ongoing.
