Waterloo regional police arrested a youth for mischief after police received reports of a person planning to attend Waterloo Collegiate Institute with a weapon.
Waterloo Collegiate Institute was placed in a hold and secure as a safety precaution
A youth has been charged with mischief after Waterloo regional police received reports of a person planning to attend a Waterloo high school with a weapon.
Police told CBC News officers received a report shortly after 10:35 a.m. and were at Waterloo Collegiate Institute within three minutes of the call coming in.
The school was placed in a hold and secure just after 11 a.m. Wednesday. The hold and secure was lifted just before 12:30 p.m.
Several police cruisers were parked outside the school as police investigated. A spokesperson for Waterloo regional police said there was no information regarding what school the youth attends.
Police said there is no concern for public safety.
