Fare evasion leads to 15 pounds of marijuana and a firearm found

(KRON) – An Oakland man carrying 15 pounds of marijuana and a gun was nabbed after he attempted to ride a BART train without paying, according to Bay Area Rapid Transit police.
BART officers stopped a man for fare evasion at 5:28 p.m. on Feb. 25. According to BART police, the suspect attempted to flee, however, was detained.
The suspect was identified as 20-year-old Oakland resident, Jdyn Yearger.
Police said they found a loaded .45 caliber Glock handgun on Yearger’s waistband during a search. According to the police investigation, the gun was reported stolen.
The search also yielded more than 15 ounces of suspected marijuana, a working scale, and $1,200 in cash.
Yearger was arrested and booked into the Alameda County Jail for carrying a loaded firearm on a person or in a vehicle while in a public place, carrying concealed firearm upon a person and possessing marijuana for sale.
