The Premier League club, AFC Bournemouth have inked a partnership with a government agency and the official destination marketing organisation for Southern Nevada, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA).
The multi-year agreement will consist of the “Visit Las Vegas” branding on the club’s training gear, in-stadium visibility, and matchday activations that will reflect the enthusiasm and energy of Las Vegas.
Following multiple global sporting events, such as Formula 1‘s first Las Vegas Grand Prix in November and Super Bowl LVIII, which was held earlier this month at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium, the AFC Bournemouth collaboration reinforces the destination’s status as ‘The Sports and Entertainment Capital of the World’ and raises Las Vegas within its largest overseas market. Last year, 550,000 British visitors came to Las Vegas, with many attending athletic events, screening parties, and other associated activities across the city.
Steve Hill, President and CEO of the LVCVA, commented, “We are grateful to AFC Bournemouth for their partnership and bringing us the opportunity to expand our sports brand internationally. We look forward to delivering some of Vegas’ signature energy directly to Vitality Stadium throughout the remainder or this season and beyond.”
With unique high-profile sporting occasions held throughout the year, as well as an intriguing list of nine major league professional teams, including the National Football League‘s (NFL) Las Vegas Raiders and the National Hockey League‘s (NHL) Vegas Golden Knights, there is a factor for each kind of sports fan in Vegas.
Jim Frevola, AFC Bournemouth President of Business Operations, said, “I’m excited to announce this partnership as it’s a great fit for both parties. Our ownership having roots in Vegas, and with the city itself fast becoming an important sporting destination, this makes for a strong relationship. I’m thankful to all at LVCVA for working with us to make this happen, and I look forward to seeing what we can create together.”
The team’s association with Vegas began in 2022, when Bill Foley, owner of the Vegas Golden Knights, invested in the club. Following that, the team has revealed a community collaboration with the Downtown Las Vegas Soccer Club (DVLSC), the city’s top non-profit youth soccer organisation.
