Chelsea actively ‘moving to find’ Pochettino replacement – One name definitely ‘in the list’ – Sport Witness – Footymercato.com

Chelsea’s history with Italian coaches has pushed them to look at Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi as a replacement for Mauricio Pochettino but Inter are not concerned for now.

That’s according to FC Inter News, who say the Italian side are looking to extend Inzaghi’s contract at the club and avoid any doubts over his future.

They explain that Inzaghi’s work at Inter Milan has not gone unnoticed, with the Italian having re-established them among the European elite, to the point some even think they could be Champions League winners this season.

He is increasingly being considered as a top-level coach and that’s put him in focus for the summer, when several big sides could be on the hunt for new managers.Chelsea and Manchester United were linked with moves yesterday and FC Inter News follow that up by insisting Chelsea are the more likely option.

They’re ‘moving to find’ a replacement to their current manager as Mauricio Pochettino is not bringing the results they had wanted and Inzaghi is on the list of possible replacements.

Chelsea have been ‘historically attracted’ to Italian coaches, with Gianluca Vialli, Roberto di Matteo, Carlo Ancelotti, Antonio Conte and Maurizio Sarri all taking charge at various points in their history, and it is that which has led them to look at Inzaghi.

Inter have no reason to worry at this stage, though, as Inzaghi is doing well at Inter, happy with the squad and set up he has built.

The club are naturally concerned about his contract, which runs until 2025 so will be in its last year this sum, but the plan is to start speaking to his agent soon to lay the foundations of a renewal with an adjustment to the €5.5m he currently earns a year, something it seems they hope will put an end to any speculation about a move to Chelsea or anywhere else.
