Jorginho is ‘very happy’ at Arsenal, his agent says, amid rumoured interest from Italian clubs across Serie A including Lazio, Juventus and Napoli.

The 32-year-old midfielder sees his Arsenal contract expire in June although the north Londoners have an option to extend his deal by a further 12 months.

Jorginho has made 41 appearances since he swapped Chelsea for Arsenal in January 2023 and it was thought the Gunners were open to offers this summer.

Lazio were strongly linked to the Italian star while he also attracted interest from clubs in Spain and Saudi Arabia but Jorginho ended up staying at the Emirates.

In November, Jorginho’s agent Joao Santos admitted contract talks with Arsenal were at a ‘standstill’ amid uncertainty over his future in north London.

The same month, Jorginho revealed that he intends to return to play in Italy at some point before his career ends.

Jorginho’s agent Santos has now shared a fresh update on the future of his player and said: ‘I can see him fitting in well at Lazio with Mister Sarri or at Juventus, but also at Napoli.

‘Inter [and] AC Milan are two great clubs. Roma has never been an option. Arsenal have priority. In any case, we want the right club for him.

‘We will evaluate the proposal that comes to the table [from Arsenal] and decide. Obviously the [priority] is the renewal with Arsenal because he is very happy with everyone.

‘But with the contract expiring we hope the team that wants his best arrives. Another objective is to receive a call-up to the national team from Spalletti too.

‘On the return to Italy, however, the market is a bit firm and slow, before it was more aggressive. I don’t know if it’s a question of money and strategy.’
